Archbishop Gänswein: A "Militant Secularism" is Spreading

Archbishop George Gänswein kritsiert "militant secularism", the spreading in the EU
(Einsiedeln) Curia Archbishop Georg Gänswein has found clear words a week before the elections to the European Parliament. He criticized the lack of commitment of politicians to oppose discrimination against Christians in Europe.
The Prefect of the Papal Household  of Pope Francis and personal secretary of Benedict XVI. spoke on Sunday in the Benedictine Abbey of Einsiedeln in Switzerland at the annual pilgrimage of the Pontifical Relief and Works Agency, Church in Need. [Kirche in Not] Archbishop Gänswein mentioned that media and politics condemn every form of anti-Semitism and Islamophobia, but does not apply the same standards in relation to the discrimination against Christians in Europe.
The German Curial  Archbishop lamented that in the EU, on  May 25th,  a new European Parliament will be chosen which will spread a "militant secularism". Certain circles want the Christians in Europe be "muzzled" and push religion to the margins, says Gänswein. However, he EU is pursing suicide in this, because Europe will not survive, says the Archbishop, when it renounces its Christian roots.

  1. The EU, UN and other "militant secularist" organisations were ably aided & abetted by the liberal modernist post-conciliar papacies and their Chardinesque ecumenical and interconfessional pantheism. Blame yourself Ganswein and all your turncoat protestant neo-catholics who have dethroned Christ in the Holy Places and in society.

  2. This is an interesting article. ++Gaenswein raises a vital matter.

The EU Parliament has become very anti–Christian. For centuries there has been a profound conflict between Christianity and Secularism in Europe, very noticeable in Belgium where I lived for some 20 years. But it was a conflict in balance because of a strong Catholic Church.

That balance has now collapsed because of the Vatican II and post-Vatican II debacle.

So what we now see is not so much the acceptance by thinking people of the logic of Secularism but rather a collapse of the opposition. This is reflected in the EU Parliament.

The Secularists think that if they finish the Church, they have won. They are wrong. There is another and greater danger which long preceded Secularism.

They completely underestimate the danger of Islam and fail to see that it was the Church which for millennia held back Islam. With the Church gone, it is Islam that has won.

  3. I agree that the modernists with their message of love love love, has left us Catholics defensless from the onslaught of Muslims and Jews in which we were no longer permitted to defend ourselves. But I have tried to point out that St. John Paul ll and Pope Benedict XVl condemned every modernist heresy. In this case Pope Benedict strongly called for the study of Apologetics to be restored. That is the study of how to defend our Catholic faith from those who would attack it. Jews gave Rome orders not to allow the SSPX back into the Church. Pope Benedict XVl ignored them. When the Jews ordered that the Good Friday prayers for them in the Old Mass be changed. Pope Benedict said ok. When the new prayers were released, they were worded more strongly than before calling on God to bring the Jews to the Christian faith. Thus crushing the sugar coated treatment by modernists of them. Now once again if the Jews want salvation they must accept the Most Holy Trinity.

  4. The liberal modernist regime does not look so loving after its facilitation by gay Paul VI of the paedophile presbyterial and episcopal lobbies to pursue an unchecked calvary of sexual predation and abuse of children. Neither are the persistent financial fraud and money-laundering activities of The Vatican Bank that charitable in appearance. More grave still are the now countless acts of liturgical abomination implemented on a daily basis by the invalid Novus Ordo Seclorum replete with its toxic ecumenical mix of sacrilege and illicitness which have disembodied The Roman Catholic Faith.
The vile de facto schismatic mask of the liberal modernist papacies has almost slipped off. This has helped to reinforce the resolve of genuine traditional Roman Catholics who will not compromise with this sham.

In the meantime, we are admonished in St Luke's Gospel, "I say to you, that he will quickly revenge them. But yet the Son of man, when he cometh, shall he find, think you, faith on earth?" (18:8)

The worst is yet to come. We have only begun this period of chastisement and cleansing. We must needs hold fast to what has been handed down to us by our fathers in The Faith.
