"The Foundations of the Social Policy of the Russian Orthodox Church distinguishes between abortive and non-abortive contraception. Priests can allow people to use the latter," head of the synodal Department for Church and Society Relations Archpriest Vsevolod Chaplin said in an interview with Interfax-Religion.

Moscow, November 23, Interfax - The Russian Orthodox Church has said the use of condoms is acceptable following a similar statement made by Pope Benedict XVI of the Catholic Church last week.

  1. I am heartbroken over this tragic decision. I just want to break down and cry.

Are we still, now, going to try to claim that Benedict did not open the door to the use of condoms? Can we now all stop the defending of the indefensible? Here is yet another result of the Pope's tragically stupid remarks: the Orthodox will now follow in Benedict's misguided footsteps. The floodgates are about to open. God help us all.

The sin of onanism is now ignored, I guess. The "spilling of the seed" is no longer a bad thing, we are now to assume. This is of lesser interest to the Holy Father than being obsequious to the gnomes of Tel Aviv. "I am not opposed to Communion in the hand in principle," declares Benedict to the sycophantic Peter Seewald. No, things like this are of no great moment to the Pope. Desecrations of the Eucharist, both deliberate and accidental, do not outrage Benedict. But an imprudent remark of Bishop Williamson does outrage him.

I only pray to God that these horrors will not go on much longer and that He will give us, at long last, a great and glorious Pope, and free us from these walking disasters in white we have been suffering from for over fifty years. I hope He grants us this favor soon before the auto-demolition of the Church gets any worse.

  2. The Orthodox have been crazy like this since before Humanae Vitae. Nothing new, it's just that most people don't know about it.
