60 Million Euro Church Tax For Porno- and Esoteric Store Weltbild

Edit: it's like an infestation of cockroaches. They just won't go away.

(Augsburg) The Archdiocese of Munich and Freising is till now the second-largest shareholder, will put 30 million euro of Church tax into  the little Catholic publishing and mail order firm, Weltbild. The Diocese of Augsburg will pay 15 million in church tax, although you would actually bail out as a shareholder. The diocese not been involved in Welbild, Mainz and Hildesheim, will now be a new partner and pump together with the Catholic Chaplaincy of  Soldiers Berlin ,15 million Church tax into the company.
Weltbild is one of the largest porn and esoteric-order companies in Germany and was already been heavily criticized by laymen, Protestant Christians and Pope Benedict XVI.. At times, the product range is partially adjusted, then after criticism has faded, the full load of porn and esoteric comes back in the catalog and in the stores. Porn bestsellers like Shades of Grey - Geheimes Verlangen   are  actively sold and advertised. This approach was recently endorsed  even by the Vice-Chairman Prelate Fuchs for the Tagespost (Edition July 15th, 2012).
In addition to the criticism of the product range, the Group is also criticized as an employer.  Recently, 140 people were dismissed from the customer service area on the one hand, but on the other side vacancies were advertised with an expensive branding campaign.
Even the retail book trade in the cities does not speak well of Weltbild. Of the booksellers, the displacement of their business is viewed critically by the Group. Normal booksellers have no church tax for their businesses, and personnel don't receive any grants.

Spaemann: Priests May Deny Dogmas, but Believers Can't Refuse the Church Tax

Edit: in light of recent events with Bishop Tebartz van Elst and the German Bishop's complicity in distributing pornography with Catholic's donations, enforced through the church-tax, this statement by philosopher Robert Spaemann on September 9th of 2011 really cuts to the quick.

(Gloria.tv / KNA) The philosopher Robert Spaemann has criticized the church tax. "It is scandalous in our church tax, that he who pays no more church tax, is excommunicated," the Catholic said this for the newspaper "Die Welt" (Friday). "You can deny the resurrection of Jesus, but then you are not suspended as a priest. Yet when it comes to money, it gets serious. This coupling of church membership and church tax must fall. "[How about suspending heretical priests, instead?]

Spaemann also welcomed the speeches held by the Pope on his visit to Germany and his plea for the Church's detachment from the world. "As Archbishop of Munich, Joseph Ratzinger once told me on a walk: You know, what the biggest problem of the Church in Germany is? She has too much money."

German Bishops Will Pump Almost a Billion Euro into Its Porno and Esoteric Book Store Weltbild

(Augsburg) The Diocese of Augsburg is ordering liquidity support of 15 million euros for the battered Weltbild publishing group in which it holds a 11.7 percent interest. This was decided by the Diocesan Advisory Committee and the Diocesan Tax Committee, on the initiative of Bishop Konrad Zdarsa.

The envisaged contribution of the diocese to "restructuring of the publishing group" is numerially far in excess of Augusburg's shareholder share, they say. But now we hear that the other partners have provided assistance in view as Augsburger Allgemeine has reported.

Prelate Fuchs, Vice-chairman of Weltbild, declared, after previously strong criticism of the German Bishops' porn business became very loud, on 07-15-2012 according to the Tagespost ( see separate report "German Bishop's Porno Business Continues to Hum") that they would continue operating in the business of pornography, especially violent pornography. The disgusting "novel" Shades of Gray - Geiheimes Verlangen is still available in Weltbild and is sold there without age verification.

Weltbild Scandal -- The Bishops Respond

"Lawyer's Whore" For Sale at Weltbild
(Augsburg) The range of Weltbild Publishing Group Ltd., one of the largest book retailers in Germany is in stark contrast to what its owner, the Catholic bishops, should preach. Last year's culmination of decades of public criticism for selling pornographic and esoteric books, and the book trade magazine book report was addressed the hypocrisy recently. Criticism from Catholic media or anxious letter from Catholics regularly remained unanswered. Including our recent issues, that we document here.

Weltbild has an approximate income of 1.6 billion Euros and is not only the largest of booksellers, but as industry insiders report, also the largest of porn distributors. The German book trade will be practically ignored by the Federal Censor for Media Dangerous to Youth. Pornographic print works, even in the most degenerate variants, even so are put on the list as violent youth-endangering media. Therefore, it is possible for retailers like Weltbild to buy and sell fully pornographic material unimpeded.

Our questions have supplied each of the shareholders of the Weltbild: Archbishop Reinhard Marx Joachim (Archdiocese of Munich and Freising, 13.2%), Bishop Felix Genn (diocese of Muenster, 2%), Bishop Wilhelm Schraml (diocese of Passau, 5.7 %), diocesan administrator Provost Dr. William Gegenfurtner (Regensburg Diocese 5.7%), Bishop Stephan Ackermann (Diocese of Trier 4.3%), Bishop Dr. Friedhelm Hofmann (Diocese of Würzburg, 5.7%), Bishop Henry Mussinghoff (diocese of Augsburg 11.7%), Bishop Dr. Konrad Zdarsa (diocese of Augsburg 11.7%), Archbishop Ludwig Schick (Archdiocese of Bamberg 5.7%), Bishop Gregor Maria Hanke (diocese of Eichstätt, 3.4%), Archbishop Cardinal Dr. Robert Zollitsch (Archdiocese of Freiburg 2.7%), Bishop Heinz Josef Algermissen (Diocese of Fulda 6.8%), Bishop Franz-Josef Overbeck (soldiers pastoral Berlin 4.3%) and as the largest shareholder of the Association of Dioceses Germany (VDD) with 24.2%, whose chairman is Archbishop Zollitsch.

Only from a single Diocese was there a minimalist response. An employee of an episcopal General Vicar announced: "I have forwarded your inquiry to the press office of the German Bishops' Conference." But by the Secretariat of the German Bishops' Conference was no answer. Secretary of the Bishops' Conference, Father Hans Langendörfer SJ. The Jesuit himself sits on the board of the publishing group of the Weltbild and is also an executive of the Association of German Dioceses (VDD), which holds 24.2 percent of the world's shares. Because of the problems associated with the publishing group in recent years some dioceses had transferred their shares to the VDD. In the hands of multi-functionary Father Langendörfer the threads come together from around the Weltbild group and make him a key figure. As the Weltbild-scandal a year ago, reached a peak,  Chairman Klaus Donaubauer was forced to resign. The Bishops' Conference said,  in a completely inappropriate overreaction to completely disconnect from the publishing group and gave it the impression that a Christian bookstore is no longer possible today. In fact, since then nothing has happened. A lack of action seems to be the responsibility of Father Langendörfer as the most influential of decision-makers. As the premier owner-representative on the board, it determines the orientation of the Welt group. As secretary of the German Bishops Conference, he impedes critical questions.

1) How important is the income of Welt for the German dioceses?

2) Nurses and teachers must be members of the Catholic faith and make her private life according to Catholic principles. Do these principles also apply to the management of the publishing group of Weltbild?

3) Are you aware that Weltbild is still actively selling pornographic and esoteric literature and advertisements? Are you aware of how high revenues and profits from sales of pornographic and esoteric titles are?

4) Customers who purchase over weltbild.de and the world eBook reader literature, leave stored data. Do you know whether these data are collected and used for marketing purposes? Customers will have acquired a pornographic or esoteric titles, are other titles suggested of the same genre suggested to them?

5) Are you familiar with the statement of Monsignor Michael Fuchs, deputy chairman of the Publishing Group GmbH Weltbild,  made to the "Daily Mail" (24 July 2012)? Was it discussed with you? If so,  should it be regarded as official approval for the resumption of the distribution of pornographic literature by the German bishops?

6) Will the world of German dioceses address data provided by Catholics?

The ecclesiastical business has been under criticism for some time, because among other things they offer thousands of products on line with esoteric and erotic contents.

Germany's Catholic Publisher 'Weltbild' Sells Sadomasochistic Tripe

Who can wonder?  In the area of sadomasochism the German cringer and Church-persecutor Bishops have no limits.

(kreuz.net, Augsburg)  Since the 9th of July the English publication of  the pornographic "Shades of Grey" is available in German.

The violence dominated piece of tripe has appeared at the tripe publisher 'Goldman'

The private fantasies of a house wife

The author of the book is Britin Erika Leonard (49), who is also known as E.L. James.

She is the mother of two sons and worked briefly for a television broadcaster.

Time Magazine indentified Mrs. Leonard in 2012 as one of the 100 most influential people in the world.

The more primitive, the better

From 2009, Mrs. Leonard published her tripe on the Internet.  The it appeared in a small publisher in Australia.

Since April she has been operating from a US publisher in grand style.

In English there are already 10 million copies that have been sold.

Depraved History

The porn involves a literature student (21) who becomes enslaved to a millionaire (27).

The millionaire was abused as a child and is psychologically disturbed.

The book excessively describes the violence, with which the student is inflicted.

Sado-Rubbish in 'Weltbild' branch

In German the book is also available from one of the affiliates of 'Weltbild'.

At the same time the publisher has distanced itself then as it writes in its website:

"The description of the oppression women in this book is contrary to the world- and human image, which we want to portray as a book seller."

This hypocritical distancing will hardly interest anyone.

On the website of 'buecher.de', which belongs to 'Weltbild' in any case, the tripe is available without a hypocrisy warning.

Slaves of the Market

A speaker of 'Weltbild' sees that her publisher for the Old Liberal 'Katholischen Nachrichtenagentur' (Catholic Information Agency)  is in a dilemma.

The sadomasochistic book is 'omnipresent' on the market.

'Weltbild' will not promote the title and its distribution in any way.

They have distanced themselves from its content and given critics room.

But it will be sold all the same.

Pope Complained of German Bishops Forsaking Him

The Vaticanleak Book is a Hastily Built, Chaotic and Untrammeled Thing

It is to laugh:  As the Church-hate media use Bishop Richard Williamson as a pretext to get started on the Pope, he expects backing from the German Judas-Bishops. -kreuz.net

(kreuz.net, Vatican)  The book from Italian journalist Gianluigi Nuzzi, armed with books from the 'Vatican Leaks', is a hastily knit messy framework.

This was established by the German news "Welt" yesterday.

Nuzzis' book is entitled "Sua Santita -- Le Carte Segrrete di Benedetto XVI" -- Or, His Holiness -- the Secret Letters of Benedict XVI.

It was published two weeks ago.

"Only civilly married"

Nuzzis' book cites hundreds of secret documents or memos and handwritten notes from the Pope.

The facsimile of thirty confidential letters are in the appendix at the end.

Many of the  papers are confidential letters concerned only with Italian affairs -- "a dinner between the Pope and the President of Italy, also the dismissal of the chief editor of 'Avvenire', the newspaper of the Italian bishops' conference,"  says the newspaper.

At dinner with the ex-Communist and Italian President Giorgio Napolitano they discussed family law, euthanasia, abortion and children.

There is only one note about the Italian president on the Vatican document, "Only married civilly."

Massive Donation Slump

Another letter comes from the emeritus Cardinal Paolo Sardi (76) -- the Pro-Patron of the Order of Malta.

He criticized the poor coordination of the various departments in the Vatican.

A letter of the Papal delegate to the beleaguered congregation of the Legionaries of Christ, Cardinal Velasio De Paolis (76) reported on the massive donation slump of the order and their severe financial situation.

A protest against the Pope insultress

A memo to the German Nuncio, Archbishop Jean-Claude Perisset, asked for "a clear word of protest" directed at the Bundeschancellor Angela Merkel.

This statement refers to her interference in the lifting of the Excommunications against the four Bishops of the Society of St. Pius X in 2009.

The chapter on the German Chancellor contained seven pages.

Benedict XVI noted himself in his report the word "media tsunami".

In Nuzzis' book, there were also conflicts specified  between the Old Liberal Mainz Cardinal Karl Lehmann and the Pope.

But there's even more -- at 'Weltbild'

In an interview with the German 'Tageschau' Nuzzi said that onoly some documents in his book come from the Pope himself.

During the media scandal regarding Bishop Richard Williamson the Pope personally criticized to the German Nuncio that the German Judas-Bishops did not defend him. [Remember when Father Schmidberger of the SSPX did just that?]

Nuzzi explained still more that there were still more documents regarding "Weltbild" [The pornography distributor of the German Bishops].

This information could be included in a planned German version of the work.

Flawed YouCat Youth Catechism by Flawed Cardinal Selling Well

Edit: The Catechism published by the German Bishops' pornography distributor, Weltbild, seems to be enjoying a great deal of popularity despite questions about its truthfulness to Catholic teaching. It is the brainchild of Cardinal Schoenborn.

Best selling Catholic book worldwide?

New Youth Catechism

The following comes from a February 23 story by the Catholic News Agency

The co-creator of the Church’s catechism for young people has revealed that it's now the top selling Catholic book in the world.

“The latest figures show that Youcat has sold 1.7 million copies worldwide. It’s been a great success in nearly every country where it has been published,” said German publisher Bernard Meuser in a Feb. 23 interview with the Catholic News Agency.

“For example, it is number one in Spain, number one in America, and number one in Germany along with the Pope’s latest book.”

Legal Counsel of Fulda Diocese Threatens Catholic News Service

Edit: the Lack of professionalism on the part of these German attorneys is really astonishing.

Letter by Dr. Post from the diocese of Fulda:  He threatened KATH.NET with legal consequences because of a request to the bishopric of Fulda (!). Detail: Dr. Post is one of the eight members on the board of 'Die Welt'

Fulda (kath.net)  The sex scandal surrounding 'Weltbild' Group and information on pornography at various bookstores reported by Kath.net,  has now led to a very bizarre reaction from the Diocese of Fulda.

Background: On 25 October kath.net had written in a report on 'Weltbild': "KATH.NET readers have informed KATH.NET that the Cathedral Book Store in Fulda has sex and porn items in there. So you can easily get films like "Porn for Couples" or  "The Porn for Couples -- oral sex" and many other relevant articles.  KATH.NET then asked the Cathedral Book Store and the Diocese of Fulda for an opinion. The bookstore's statement was clear.  It came promptly,  and was fast and friendly, while the opinion of the Diocese did not come at all.

This week, KATH.NET was reached by mail  with one letter from Dr. Albert Post, the General Counsel of the Episcopal Vicar General of Fulda, where he threatened KATH.NET with legal consequences  because KATH.NET addressed  and reported a request (!) regarding a case which was reported to the appointed representative of  the Diocese of Fulda. In addition to an allegedly factual statement claiming that the diocese has nothing  to do with the Cathedral Book Store,  the letter contains the  following response:.. "We therefore request your Catholic online newspaper omit in total its unworthy action in consequence  and in relation to the bishopric of Fulda.  We ask at this point whether kath.net  doesn't live in the same glass house at the moment, as you throw stones, considering your own on-line internet offers.  Perhaps you should mind the plank in your own eye."  It is not clear at present whether this untrue allegation has been agreed upon by the Diocese of Fulda.  KATH.NET has in this respect requested clarification from its press office. Regardless, KATH.NET is also considering current legal action against Dr. Post at this point.
Advertising

It is clear that there is something else that touches on the back ground of 'Weltbild' itself. A look at the board in the world should suffice: Albert Post is one of the eight members of the board of directors and thus responsible for the 'Weltbild' scandal, where there are currently still thousands of relevant erotic and illicit works on offer and where currently, still via the 'Welt'  daughter company,  Droemer-Knaur, various anti-Church products are still produced and distributed. The diocese of Fulda is involved in "Weltbild' for 6.8 percent. Other members of the Board of 'Weltbild' include Klaus Donaubauer, Chairman of the Finance Director of the Diocese of Augsburg and Father Hans Langendörfer, the secretary of the German Bishops' Conference.

Pope Launches Broadside Against German Bishops

Papst ermahnt die ungehorsamen deutschen Bischöfe

Vatican.  The German Bishops must decide to proceed against pornography.  Pope Benedivt XVI said this yesterday in a reception for Reinhard Schweppe, the new German Ambassador to the Holy See. The Holy See is concerned on this account, that the necessary action against the dissemination of pornography on the part of the Catholic Church in Germany "must be decisively and clearly pursued".  It is clear that with this the Pope was implying the scandal surrounding the Catholic 'Weltbild'  publisher.
