Francis Criticizes lockdown protestors, says 'they'd never protest children lacking water'

By David Martin

In a book-length interview with leftist Vatican journalist Austen Ivereigh, Pope Francis this week lashed out against those who protest the COVID lockdown, saying, “You’ll never find such people protesting the death of George Floyd, or joining a demonstration because there are shantytowns where children lack water or education, or because there are whole families who have lost their income.”

Why is Francis accusing these good demonstrators of having no concern for the very things they are protesting? They are protesting a socialist lockdown through which "whole families have lost their income," through which cities have become shantytowns lacking education for the young, and where children are deprived of good things like parks to play in and swings to swing on. These children can't even get a drink of water at the local drinking fountain because of all the "red tape" they've wrapped around them. Why isn't Francis defending these children?

And why is Francis defending George Floyd? Has he forgotten his violent criminal history and how he threatened to shoot a pregnant woman in the stomach? Why is it that we always see Francis upholding the right arm of Barabbas while persecuting the innocent?

In his interview with Ivereigh — an atheist who claims to be Francis' biographer — the pope said, "Those who claim, for example, that being forced to wear a mask is an unwarranted imposition by the state are victims only in their own imagination.”

So losing one’s livelihood and going into foreclosure is suffering ‘only in one’s imagination?’ Are the suffering underground Catholics in China whom Francis has handed to the Communist regime to be monitored, beaten, starved, deprived of their children through forced abortion and robbed of their baptismal right to peacefully worship God also "victims only in their own imagination?"

Interestingly, Francis met earlier this week with players and officials from the National Basketball Players Association (NBA). The meeting took place indoors at the Vatican, without masks, and without social distancing observed. The pope encouraged NBA’s support of the Black Lives Matter protests, which coincides with his expressed support for BLM in his new book "Let Us Dream," wherein he cites the George Floyd killing as an act of “racial injustice.” The book is due to be released on December 1.

  2. Who is surprised? Over the past few weeks, I dislike Francis more and more. I think Archbishop Vigano is right....he doesn't even give him the papal name, but instead calls him Jose Bergoglio, or just Bergoglio.
Over the past six weeks, Francis has....allowed for gay civil unions (read that as marriage), supported and acknowledged BLM and the violent protests that destroyed USA cities over the Summer, congratulated Biden/Harris on their (illegitimate) "win", received USA NBA players in the Vatican and supported their campaign for "racial justice", and finally hosted an ecomonic summit at the Vatican which was a total flop, which promoted Francis' global economic agenda and featured radical ex-priest Leonardo Boff, femminist theolgians, lesbians, transgender economists, communists, and liberation theologian/economists. It was touted by the Vatican as a huge important event....trouble was next to no news stations covered or reported it, and only 5,000 people world wide "clicked' in the live-stream events to watch the proceedings of the few days the meeting was held. Total flop for Francis and his Vatican according to many CAtholic news sites. Good riddance Francis.

    He's a socialist/social activist, not a Pope.

(my sister has COVID-19 (apparently mild), and is self-isolated in her town house. A neighbor and myself bring supplies, and a nurse visits every day.) She's been sick for 4 days, and so far just has bad cold symptoms and a sore throat. Her Dr. says that if by Sunday, if it's still just like that, it's unlikely to get worse....hopefully)

  5. To Paul Jackson-

Paul, Buddy Man, I would not state this which you wrote:

" COVID-19 is not and never has been a serious pandemic.",

Here or anywhere else. Tancred had/has it, my sister has it, my Aunt had it (last June), and other 300,000 people just in Pennsylvania had it. Over 250,000 USA people died from it. Millions elsewhere. I really don't give a f--- about China because that's where it came fro, but they have it again too.

I would not write that or say it out loud anywhere, if I were you. People here might think you're nuts, and outside, someone who either had it, or has family who had it/has it/died from it, might punch your teeth out.

    2. It is not a serious pandemic, unless we now have one of those every few years.

Reactions to COVID-19 are causing far more harm than COVID-19 and are totally disproportionate to the threat.

Worldwide infection fatality rate is probably 0.15%, which is less than a medium to bad annual seasonal flu.

Why is almost the whole developed world overreacting in near lock step, excepting Japan, Sweden, Taiwan, some US states?

  7. Pope Francis deserves to have Catholic anger directed at him. Wish there was enough for him to get out while the getting's good. You'd think after so many papal embarassments and disasters and scandals, he would.

  8. This reminds me of that Gospel where Martha is doing all the work, and her sister listening to Jesus. She was sprinkling oil on Him. Judas replied that it would be better that the money spent on the aromas were spent for the poor. Christ tells Iscariot that the poor will always be here, but Jesus will not always be around. Here Bergoglio tells us protesting for freedom to worship and think is better if spent on some abstract poverty.

  14. @Damian M. Malliapalli … Over 250,000 USA people died from it.

That is incorrect. Those numbers are not the deaths (US) … from … COVID-19 but the deaths of people … involving … COVID-19, or with COVID-19 -- big difference.

Many people with other serious health problems (comorbidity) contract COVID-19 and if they sometime thereafter die, but not necessarily from COVID-19, but from other serious heath conditions, they are listed as a death involving COVID-19. If someone with a serious heart disease dies of a heart attack and they have COVID-19, they are listed as a death involving COVID-19. So citing the number of deaths "involving" COVID-19 is misleading.

The number of deaths directly attributable to COVID-19 without other serious health conditions present is 6% of that number. It's on the CDC site, but buried on one of the pages.

    See… https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid_weekly/index.htm#Comorbidities

    A few more stats.

Youtube … at 3:58 … Number of deaths from influenza and pneumonia in England and Whales are greater than deaths from COVID-19 since June 2020.

Youtube … at 9:25 … The risk of death for school aged children in the last 5 years is 5-10x greater for influenza compared to COVID-19.

Youtube …Dr. Simone Gold reported that out of 70,000+ reported cases of COVID-19 on universities there were only 3 hospitalizations and 0 deaths.

Sweden which did not lock down and has no mask mandates has a lower death rate for COVID-19 than many countries and US states.

The whole mask wearing and economic shutdown are a scam to destroy the economy of the US and other countries. Given the comparatively low risk factors for people under 30 years of age, shutting down schools, businesses and social gatherings makes no sense.

In 2018, a total of 2,839,205 deaths were registered in the US, so many people are dying every day. The testing regime is so unreliable it's easy to classify many deaths as "involving" COVID-19.

ELON MUSK: Finds SHOCKING Covid Test Results

4 tests on the same machine with 2 positive and 2 negative, so even the testing protocols are a farce.

The vast majority of the people dying from COVID-19 are very old people that are on the edge anyway, and can be pushed over by COVID-19, the flu or pneumonia.

    https://voxcantor.blogspot.com/2020/11/ctv-news-reports-as-for-november-15.html

As of Nov. 15, 2020 there were 10,947 dead in Canada but 10,781 were senior in long-term care!

I don't understand this, and I've heard it before, many times on TV, and still don't understand it. The way I see it is, if a person has/has had cancer for two years and has been basically stable, then contracts COVID-19 and dies...I would think that the person died of COVID-19, not cancer. Or if someone had lupus and was stable for years without it progressing, caught COVID-19 and died, I would say they died of COVID-19, not lupus.

I've heard the argument of people who are compromised and catch COVID-19 and die, died of their pre-existing condition as well as COVID-19. But my reasoning is that if these elderly with re-existing conditions (even in nursing homes), were practically fine and stable despite their infirmities, and then caught COVID-19 and suddenly their condition because worse and they died.....they didn't die of their condition, they died of being infected with COVID. I think these people who try to say that people are dying of their pre-existing conditions (aggravated by COVID), are trying to downplay the virus...which is very dangerous.

There were people, mostly on FOX news, mocking the virus, mocking restrictions and wearing masks, and mocking scial distancing. They fostered an attitude of resistance and defiance of legit regulations to help end the pandemic. I'm 100% against lockdowns, but I'm also against people who mock or disregard legitimate regulations such as social distancing and wearing masks because they say it is a violation of our "freedoms".

I hate lockdowns, and the ruin of peoples jobs and careers and business. That's over reacting. But I also object to those who try to tell us that the elderly( who were fine before they caught COVID despite their illnesses), died of their illnesses, not COVID, or those who brush off social distancing, masks, etc. as violating their freedom.

THanks to President Trump's efforts, we'll have the vaccine soon, and hopefully it will destroy the virus once and for all. And we can go back to our lives, work, and freedoms. But in the neantime, those who are downplaying the COVID-19 here in the USA , are not helping the situation at all.

(*And that goes for those who want to go back to Church as well. Huge mega-churches I saw on TV, and no one wearing masks. I was going to go to Mass last Sunday, pulled up to the Church and then found out that most of the people had no masks. NO THANKS. I'm not taking my chances

  16. The important takeaway from the numbers I posted, is that the death rate from influenza and pneumonia in England and Whales are greater than deaths from COVID-19 since June 2020. Also, the risk of death for school aged children in the last 5 years is 5-10x greater for influenza compared to COVID-19.

Have we ever considered locking down the population, destroying businesses, and wearing masks because of influenza and pneumonia? Or shutting down schools for influenza because its death rate for children is 5-10x greater compared to COVID-19? Not even close. Yet here we are doing this for something that is less deadly. It's nonsense -- when you look at those numbers.

  21. George Floyd was not murdered. So Bergoglio is slandering all the cops who were present when Floyd killed himself. Bergoglio is also fanning the flames of rage and violence fed by the George Floyd hoax.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner reported that Floyd had four times the lethal concentration of Fentanyl in his system. Also, other drugs. Several bodycam videos show Floyd saying "I can't breathe" while he was still in his own car, and when he was talking around, untouched by any cop.

  22. I follow the NBA pretty closely. It is approximately 90% African-American. At this meeting in the Vatican, there were five players present with their families. Three were African-American (Jonathan Isaac-Orlando Magic, Sterling Brown-Houston Rockets, Anthony Tolliver-Memphis Grizzlies) and two were Caucasian (Kyle Koerver-Milwaukee Bucks, Marco Bellinelli-San Antonio Spurs). All of the publicity and pictures released were of the African-American players. -----This was a photo op for the pontiff to show that he was reaching out to the African-American lower economic class. All five of these players are multi millionaires. Only a very few who have mostly been native Africans have reached out to help the poor. Just how are these players poor and downtrodden?---There is a famous group of black basketball players who barnstormed and were the Harlem Globetrotters. Their main games were against a group of buffoons called the Washington Generals who were an all white team. White players in the NBA are nothing more than replacements for the Washington Generals and are almost entirely subs who sit on the bench so that television broadcasts of games are not entirely filled with black players with a white viewing audience.
